Head of Custom Retail Solutions

As Head of Custom Retail Solutions, you, together with your management team colleagues, set the course for the Anchr Retail division. You ensure that the solutions and services perfectly meet the needs of the customer, always considering the future of the retail sector. Smart utilization of AI, both in the development processes and in the solutions we build, will be a focal point in your role. Additionally, experience in or interest in security is a plus so that you can also take on the role of Information Security Manager (ISM).

Besides developing software products, Anchr Retail also creates custom software for leading retailers in the Benelux. The solutions strengthen operations on the shop floor, connect front and back-office processes, and contribute to a seamless customer experience.

The retail team works on complex, business-critical projects that integrate with clients' core systems. They combine technological expertise with a deep understanding of retail practices. Reliability, quality, and continuity form the basis of all activities - innovation and collaboration drive growth.

What does your day look like?

• Leading and coaching around 35 software developers across multiple teams mainly working with Oracle technology.

• Ensuring technical quality, architecture, and development standards.

• Expanding our vision on (custom) software development within an enterprise retail context.

• Promoting innovation, with a focus on the practical use of AI in development and retail applications.

• Enhancing collaboration with Product Management and other departments.

• Ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant software development.

• Pre-filling the role of Information Security Manager (ISM).

• Building a culture of professionalism, trust, and continuous improvement.

• Actively contributing to strategic decision-making within the retail division's management team.

What are we looking for?

Your technical skills

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, including several years in a leadership role.

• Demonstrable experience with enterprise software projects or custom development for large organizations.

• Affinity with AI and a vision on how this will impact software development and retail.

• Experience or interest in security management and compliance.

• Experience in retail, enterprise software, or technological services is a strong plus.

• Experience with Oracle APEX and Databases is a plus.
