As an integration engineer/architect, you are responsible for designing internal and external integrations. You select the most suitable tools and technologies and the most appropriate integration patterns for each integration. In addition, you support technical staff with processes, guidelines, best practices, and templates. Your engineering responsibilities include installing, configuring, and monitoring various platforms (integration, messaging, API Management, event). You will also effectively use the platforms to design, develop, and publish integration flows, APIs, and events.

What does your day look like exactly?

As an Integration Architect/Engineer, you perform the following tasks:

• Analyzing customer integration needs and creating integration analysis documents, including interface design

• Designing the integration solution based on the analysis

• Selecting the right tools and technologies to support integrations

• Defining the integration strategy: Vision - Target Architecture - Implementation Plan

• Creating the integration reference architecture

• Mapping the integration landscape (as-is & to-be)

• Listing integration patterns

• Defining integration processes

• Establishing governance processes

• Creating naming conventions, guidelines, and best practices

• Developing templates to support integration processes

• Installing, configuring, documenting, managing, and maintaining the various platforms

• Designing, developing, testing, publishing, documenting, and maintaining integration flows, APIs, and event flows in accordance with the reference architecture

You have a good knowledge of the most commonly used integration patterns: you can select and implement the most suitable pattern for each integration pattern

You have excellent knowledge of and experience with the most commonly used integration technologies such as SOAP, REST APIs, message queueing, event-streaming (Kafka), etc.

You have a broad knowledge of various integration platforms such as messaging middleware, enterprise service bus, API management platforms, iPaaS platforms, event streaming platforms (Kafka), etc.

You master the art of interface design: API design, message design, event design, ...

You have good knowledge of IT security concepts, tools, and technologies and know how and when to apply and set them up: authentication, authorization, encryption, IAM, VPN, MFA, TLS, ...

Your soft skills

You are customer-oriented, organized, accurate, and work in a structured manner

You have excellent communication skills: you can consult with customers, deliver convincing presentations, and do not shy away from difficult discussions

You make decisions supported by appropriate arguments and can explain and defend your choice

Your language skills

You have a good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written.

A good command of the French language is a plus.

Professional Bachelor in Applied Informatics, Application Development, or Software Management or Master in Computer Science
